TARE's Story

Lighthouse

A community for researchers and curious souls.

The only rule in the TARE community is to have a curious mind. If you have a curious mind, please join us and have some fun learning about research careers.

My weekly blog is a side project to entertain you with the stories I have collected since 2006. I hope to give you a glimpse into the reality of a research career.

In this blog, I will also:

  • Talk about the lessons I have learnt in my career to prepare you for your own career in research.

  • Write down the strategies I know to help you succeed in having a long research career.

  • Better understand my own career choices so I can decide what my research future is.

  • Respond to community feedback and questions - I want to content to be relevant to you. If you have your own story you want to share please email me.

  • Interview researchers about their own career and any advice they would give their younger selves.

  • Only write about my experiences as they happened.

Enjoy my stories and email me if you have any questions, want advice or subscribe to the weekly blog.

Welcome to TARE
